First Aid at Sea (REC 1).
This 1 day First Aid at Sea course is created especially for keel boat sailors, off shore racers, (for races such as The Round Ireland Race), sailing instructors, rowing clubs, open water swimming groups and anybody who uses the sea. The course includes CPR, cold water shock, hypothermia and drowning.
Jo has created this course, drawing on her experience of many years, living, working and teaching medical care on yachts.
The course meets the first aid training requirements of Irish Sailing and the RYA for sailing instructors, and for the Irish Sailing and RYA Yachtmaster Offshore first aid component. It also meets the requirement for the senior first aid certificate for offshore racers subject to ISAF regulations on first aid training (OSR 4.08.4) and is particularly appropriate for participants in ISORA, RORC races e.g. Dunlaoghaire to Dingle, Round Ireland and Fastnet races.
